Description:
This creative documentary film tells about the future of residential life in our globalized world. We are interested in the phenomenon of enclosed neighborhoods which appear all over the world. We want to tell the story of inhabitants of security communities, their wishes and concerns, their motivations for moving into gated residential areas.

Gated Communities are like the world in a drop of water: they mirror complex relations between the dream of a safe life and the risks and menaces of polarized cities, the longing for identity and community and the confrontation with poverty, migration and crime.

Searching for answers we will travel to three different cities in three different continents, with three completely different backgrounds and settings: Johannesburg in South Africa, Bangalore in India and Las Vegas in the USA. Surprisingly, the solutions to various problems are alike: Gated Communities.
