'Films' of March 22-30, 2007

We are excited for the upcoming, sixth annual Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be taking place March 22-30, 2007. After seven years of hard work, we are delighted to be recognized as a key contributor to the field of cultural exchange and independent filmmaking. This year TIFF will be providing the community with over 240 films from 90 countries. We are proud to announce that the 2006 TIFF marked the 1,000th film shown from over 100 countries. The film venues will once again be the Tiburon Playhouse Theater and the Corinthian Yacht Club, while festivities at Sam’s Anchor Café and Waters Edge Hotel will continue to enrich the Town of Tiburon.

This year TIFF will be paying tribute to John Ford (the great American director), Academy Award nominated Director, Mark Rydell (On Golden Pond, Cinderella Liberty…), who will be in attendance for the screening of his latest film Even Money, Marcello Mastroianni (the unforgettable Italian actor), and French Film Pioneers. We are also delighted to have Pixar Animation Studios joining us again for a wonderful program of animation films and discussion.

Come join us for the Opening Night Film and Gala on Thursday, March 22, at 7pm. The Opening Night Film Even Money, (starring Kim Basinger, Danny DeVito, Kelsey Grammer, and Forest Whitaker) will be making its world premiere that evening. The film will be presented at the Tiburon Playhouse Theater with the Gala to follow at the Corinthian Yacht Club, which will include international cuisine and live entertainment. Be sure to purchase your tickets soon, as seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at TIFF’s office, located at 1680 Tiburon Boulevard, or online at

TIFF is dedicated to its tradition of education and heightening cultural awareness through the artistic medium of film. Topics such as current events, global issues, music and dance, family films and many others can be found in the 2007 film line up. These themes are communicated through a variety of genres ranging from documentary to comedy, experimental to musical.

TIFF would like to invite every member of the community to join us as we go around the world in nine days. TIFF was acknowledged by Via Magazine, as “A True United Nations of Cinema.” TIFF is unique in the sense that it is staying true to the support of independent filmmaking, while establishing itself on a global level.
In TIFF’s short existence, many filmmakers and artists have had the great opportunity to commence and further their careers. The goal of TIFF is to bring the world to its community, and introduce artists to the world.
