Ranger Puja
Year:  2005
Running Time:  10 minutes
Country:  India
Genre:  Short
Director:  Joel Palombo

Description:
Ranger refers to the American icon, the Lone Ranger. Puja means prayer in Hindi. The film encompasses globalization in a surreal way. It mixes the Lone Ranger with Hindu rituals along the holy Yamuna River in India. The short film challenges the viewer to question the meaning of this unusual happening. Viewers familiar with Hindu rituals may see a parallel to the culminating event in the Ganesha Chaturthi festival where the Hindu deity, Ganesh, is immersed into the sea.
