Together with best friend, Jackie, they apply to be airline stewardesses hoping to become part of this glamorous group of 'Singapore Girls'. The opportunity turns her world upside down. Ling's dreams are misunderstood by her boyfriend, Ah-Te, who believes she wants to search overseas for new love. Ling's father has 'old generation' ideas that she needs to marry soon in order to register for government housing. In her quest to see the world, Ling is faced with conflicting issues of tradition and change, as she decides between love and dreams.
