Description: Venue: Waters Edge Hotel / 25 Main Street, Tiburon Date: Sunday, March 21, 2010 Time: 1:00 PM ***** Jeff Arch [right] was a high school English teacher and martial arts school owner when his spec script for SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE sold in 1990. Nominated for two Oscars and two Golden Globes, the screenplay also received nominations from the Writers Guild and BAFTA, among others. Since then Jeff has been working nonstop, for major producers and studios. He’s had four other movies made, including Disney’s “IRON WILL” and Humanitas Prize nominee SAVING MILLY, for CBS. In 2005 Jeff wrote and directed the indie comedy DAVE BARRY’S COMPLETE GUIDE TO GUYS, and in 2009 he completed his first novel, THE BELL TOWER, a boarding school story spanning twenty years in the lives of seven characters. Currently Jeff is writing "SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - THE MUSICAL" for Broadway, with Joel Zwick ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") directing, and Jeff's longtime business partner David Shor producing. Jeff is also at work on COLOUR MY WORLD, a Broadway musical based on songs from the rock band Chicago. Matt Hader is a Screenwriter and Independent Producer. He produced the feature film April’s Fool, co-wrote the film King Leisure S.O.B. with Pat DiNizio (The Smithereens), and wrote and produced the film Dead Horse, starring Daniel Von Bargen (Basic Instinct, O’ Brother Where Art Thou). He’s had several other screenplay writing assignments and options over the years. Hader served as Creative Consultant on the ESPN baseball documentary Seventh Inning Stretch, starring Bruce Springsteen, Gene Simmons, and Joan Jett. He’s also served as a Writers Mentor for the Duke City Shootout. Matt’s a former board member of The American Screenwriters Association (ASA), and has been a panelist at numerous film festivals, including the Austin Film Festival, and the San Diego Film Festival. His screenwriting articles have appeared in the ASA’s, and Gotham Writers’ Workshop e-Newsletters. Before starting his creative career, Matt schooled at Oklahoma State University and the famed Second City in his hometown of Chicago. |
