Born in Barcelona in 1978, Lluís Quílez graduated in film direction from the ESCAC (Higher Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia).
Between 1999 and 2001 he wrote, directed and edited 4 short 16mm movies. Later, in 2002, he created and directed the credits for the film “Killing the Spot”.
As assistant director he worked on 35mm films with several short movie-makers (Kike Maillo- “El perro de Pavlov” (Pavlov’s Dogs), Pau Fernández- “Nito”, Sergi Martí –“La playa”(The Beach). He also collaborated in video clips for Escándalo Films S.L and commercials for Liquid Reality Prod., which led to him making his big jump in 2002 to 2nd assistant director for Ventura Pons in “El gran gato” (The great gato). In 2004, he debuted as producer and director in the field of “Making Of” for the feature film “Amor Idiota” (Idiot Love)[TIFF 2006], directed by Ventura Pons.

2005 “AVATAR” has been awarded 54 international prizes, including the Silver Méliès and the two qualications for OSCAR ®2007 consideration by The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.
