THREE DAYS OF ANARCHY is the third feature film by Vito Zagarrio, the other two being WOMAN IN THE MOON, starring Greta Scacchi, and BONUS MALUS starring Bigagli, Bisio, Athina Cenci, Gigio Alberti. He was awarded with a “Donatello di David” with UN BEL DÌ VEDREMO, the first HD film produced with the Eureka system. He directed documentary and short films, both in film and video (the last one L’ELOGIO DEL SUICIDIO, starring Carlo Monni, was shown at Venice Film Festival 2000). Other films are MOVIDA, a film about Almodovar’s Madrid, produced by Rai, and a documentary focused on Blasetti, produced by Istituto Luce. He works also with Raisat Cinema, producing PILLOLE DI CINEMA, a small dictionary of authors, techniques, elements of film language and the documentary CINEMA E PUBBLICITÀ.

He also teaches “Film History” at the DAMS, the University of Rome, and “Film Grammar” at the Scuola nazionale di Cinema; he’s also teaching “Italian Film” at the New York University of Florence. His latest works is about Italian Films in the 90s, Cinema of 1930s and relations between Cinema and TV.

In 1975, he graduated at the “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia” of Rome, studying with Roberto Rossellini. Since 1978 he has been working with RAI directing documentary films and reportage; he also works in important Italian festivals (Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema, Festival dei Popoli). In 1981 he won a Fulbright scholarship for USA and went to study at the Department of Cinema of the New York University, attending also the Film and TV Course, directing the documentary DIVINE WATERS, about the moviemaker John Waters. In 1983, he came back to Italy and started his cooperation with the International Pesaro Film Festival becoming the director. In 1991, he founded the Costaiblea Film Festival, in Sicily. He’s a founding member of the Cavadaliga which produced BONUS MALUS, besides many other video clips and documentaries.
