Simon Hynd
Simon is a recent graduate of Napier University, where he received a first class honours degree in Photography, Film and Imaging. He has written and directed two fictions. The first, Virus, premiered at last year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival, before going on to numerous other festivals. It has been shortlisted for a number of awards including the Jim Poole Award for best short Scottish fiction.

It was Highly Commended in both the Best of British category at Brief Encounters, and the TCM Classic Shorts competition. Most recently it was awarded the best short fiction prize at the I.P.I.F.M. film festival in Greece. Simon moved into filmmaking after establishing himself as an award winning stills photographer. Prior to Virus, he had written and directed a number of other shorts and documentaries, though he considers Virus to be his first serious film.
