Gail Levin
Gail Levin is an Emmy Award-winning producer/director of both television and film. Her most recent AMERICAN MASTERS production was James Dean: Sense Memories, which won a 2005 Cine Golden Eagle award. She has worked in a variety of formats, from original children's programming and network specials to collaborations with theater and performance artists. In 1997, she provided the filmed segments that were part of an original, live jazz opera, Lulu Noire, which premiered at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC.

Levin's work has encompassed the world of celebrity and pop culture, sports, politics, finance and fashion, and includes documentary and independent film. She has worked on an array of films with such artists as Cher, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Paul McCartncy, Yo-Yo Ma, Bobby McFerrin, Whoopi Goldberg, Joni Mitchell, Tom Stoppard, Franco ZefMrelli, Lou Reed and Robert Wilson, and many others. She has produced and directed films on and for arts institutions that include the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic.

Other projects included Guys & Dolls: Off the Record for PBS' Great Performances, in conjunction with Miramax Films; The Tall Ship Lindo, a documentary film on crossing the Atlantic, which won two Emmys; Harvard a Video Portrait on the 350th anniversary of Harvard University, honored by inclusion in the Library of Congress collection of significant historical films; and Making The Misfits, for Great Performances, which was awarded a Cine Golden Eagle for filmmaking excellence and included in the International Festival of Film on Art in Montreal in March 2003. Other work includes a series of half-hour documentaries on art and artists for a new satellite channel called Gallery HD.
