Kimmo Koskela. b. 1960, has operated in cinema, photography, video and media art since the early 1980s. He has worked with many celebrated Finnish visual art pioneers, such as Eija-Liisa Ahtila and Arno Minkkinen. As one of the leading foundation builders of contemporary Finnish video and media art, Koskela has also been instrumental in advancing media technology applications to stage productions.

Koskela lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.

Awards:

- Blind Moment: represented the Finnish National Broadcasting Company at the Golden Prague 2005 competition Still Not There: represented the Finnish National Broadcasting Company at the Emmy Awards.

- Orgastic Orange: Prix de cinema de Demain at the 5e Mondial de la Vidéo, Brussels, Belgium; and Special Prize at Kurzfilmtage, Oberhausen, Germany. Selected to the International Competition for TV programmes in Banff, Canada Mein Kampf in Media and Pink Noise (in collaboration with media artist Rea Pihlasviita): Grand Prix at Lahti AV-biennial, Finland. Finnish State Award for Photography, Finland
Annual Prize of Personal Achievement in the Arts for Helsinki, Finland.
