Mian Adnan Ahmad
An award winning filmmaker from Pakistan, Adnan first started to make films at the age of eleven. Since then he has pursued his passion for film more professionally through numerous projects including working for a television show and writing, directing and producing short films / documentaries. He has been a finalist in a screenwriting competition held by the Royal Commonwealth Society and had the honor of receiving the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a graduate program in film production in the U.S. His work has screened to audiences in Asia, North America and Europe, including being part of the First Cut showcase held at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) headquarters in Los Angeles (2009) and New York (2010).

Adnan’s film, HEAL has so far received over 13 awards at film festivals and competitions worldwide. Some of the awards he has received include:

‐ ‘Outstanding Filmmaker (Overall Directing)’ at HATCHfest 2010 where he was the only Pakistani Director among five shortlisted filmmakers selected from submissions worldwide
‐ ‘Jesse Epstein Humanitarian Award’ for his film, HEAL at the Oscar qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival
‐ ‘Best of Festival’ for his film, HEAL at the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival in the U.S (while in competition against short films,
feature films and documentaries. HEAL is the first short film to have ever received this award)
‐ HEAL was also previously nominated in five categories at the annual CECIL Awards ceremony, winning in four, including ‘Best Picture’
‐ ‘Leo Freedman Award’
