Nathan Collett
Nathan Collett, was born in San Francisco, USA, and grew up around the world in Venezuela, Australia, United States, Pakistan and Kenya. He is a dual USA and Australian citizen and now makes his home in Nairobi, Kenya. His global upbringing has inspired him as a filmmaker to tell seldom seen stories, in particular from urban Africa. Nathan has made several award winning short films including Kibera Kid which won seven international awards, including a student Emmy.

In 2009 he embarked on his first feature film Togetherness Supreme filmed on the Red One camera and shot entirely on location in Africa’s largest shantytown, Kibera, with an all-local cast. Togetherness Supreme tells the story of tribal conflict in the slums but also posits the possibility of hope and change in the midst of violence and despair.

Nathan holds a B.A. with Highest Honors in History (Africa) Stanford University, California, USA and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He was a Fulbright Fellow to Kenya in 2006-2007 and received the IIE New Leaders Group award in 2008.
