Charlene Music |

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Charlene Music uses documentary as a platform to effect social change through the exploration of human rights and other social concerns. After studying photography and film at Harvard, she worked as a documentary filmmaker in India, where she produced domestic violence prevention films in collaboration with rural communities. In Costa Rica, she founded the video production departments at Eureka Comunicación and Café Britt and directed human rights films for organizations, including the National Children’s Hospital. In addition, she has worked as a photographer and filmmaker in China, Cuba, and the United States. Charlene is currently pursuing an MFA in documentary filmmaking at Stanford, where she is the recipient of scholarships from the WorldStudio Foundation and the National Academy of Television. Films
