Danny Mendoza
Currently a third-year undergraduate film student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Danny has completed his first feature-length film, “Familiar Voices.” When he began development of this independently financed, his goal was to document a wide variety of reactions to the on-going crisis in Darfur. Since then, it has evolved into a source of information that can help audiences convert concern into effective action.

This feature length film is the result of the collaboration of a crew of volunteers (university-level students), interviews with scholars, national and international anti-genocide activists, Darfuri refugees, U.S and Canadian legislators, Nobel Peace Prize winners, a humanitarian aid worker, an RFK Memorial Humanitarian Award winner, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, community leaders, university and grade school student activists – all of whom donated their time and lent their voices to the production of this project.
