Stephen Hyde
Stephen Hyde is a Seattle-based geographer and filmmaker with an interest in process-based narratives that explore the rhythms of human practices. He studied political economy, visual communication and social philosophy at the University of Washington where he continues to teach seasonally.

Before immersing himself in the world of academia, Stephen worked in diverse capacities as a boot cobbler, bicycle messenger, and wilderness guide in the North and South American west.

In 2004 Stephen traveled to Peru to begin pre-production work for a series of short documentary segments that he is independently producing. In 2006 he returned to Peru to produce Shikashika, which is the first segment of the series and his first short narrative film.
