Eddie White
As co-founder and Creative Director at The People’s Republic of Animation (PRA) Eddie has provided much of the creative spark behind the studio’s films, music videos, TV series and commercial work, writing, designing and directing. Eddie co-directed Fritz Gets Rich (2005) and Carnivore Reflux (2006) with fellow PRA director/DOP, James Calvert. Carnivore Reflux premiered as a finalist at Sony Tropfest (2006)
and won a number of awards locally and internationally including a Movie Squad Award at Holland Animation Festival (2006) and the Best Short Animation award at the Inside Film (IF) Awards (2006) the people’s choice of Australian film.

Most recently, Eddie wrote and directed the short film Sweet & Sour (2007) a short-film coproduction with The Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Currently travelling the festival circuit, Sweet & Sour has already won a Dendy Award for Best Animation and SBS Television Award at the St Kilda Film Festival in 2007. Also in 2007 he wrote and co-directed the animated TV series pilot, I was a Teenage Butterfly, for Nickelodeon Australia featuring the voice talents of Stephen Curry, Frank Woodley and Pia Miranda.

Currently, Eddie is co-directing a short film The Cat Piano. The film is narrated by Australian rock/writer icon Nick Cave and will premiere in 2008. Having graduated in 2005 with an honours degree in arts (drama performance), Eddie is also an accomplished actor, working on both the stage and screen.
